The app
What is BoostMate?
An app to find people to play with: players of your level, who play the same games as you, at the same times. You swipe profiles, and when you both like each other, a chat opens.
Is it free?
Yes. BoostMate is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
On which devices?
BoostMate is available on iPhone, on the App Store, and on Windows PC (Download page). The Android version is in testing: sign up on the Testers page to try it before everyone else.
Which languages?
The website and the app are available in French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese and Arabic. The app follows your phone’s language, and you can change it in Settings › Preferences › Language.
Which games are available?
Valorant, League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Marvel Rivals, Call of Duty, EA Sports FC, Minecraft, GTA Online, Brawl Stars, Clash Royale. On PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and mobile.
My game isn’t on the list, can you add it?
Tell us which one at contact@boostmate.fr: the most requested games will be added first.
Matches and messages
How does a match work?
In Discover, like a player to offer to play together, or pass to see the next one. If you both like each other, it’s a match: they become your mate and you can chat.
Who can message me?
Only your mates (players you matched with) and your team members. No one else can message you.
What is “Playing now” for?
It shows other players you’re available right now, on a specific game. Handy to find a mate within a minute.
How do teams work?
Create your team or join one, invite your mates in one tap and talk in the team chat. A team can also share its Discord link with its members.
Can I turn off read receipts?
Yes: Profile › Settings › Privacy › Read receipts. Like iMessage, they work both ways: if you turn them off, you no longer see other people’s either.
Safety and privacy
How do I report or block a player?
From their profile, or by long-pressing one of their messages. Reports are reviewed by the moderation team, which can warn, suspend or ban an account.
Can I be invisible?
Yes: in Profile › Settings › Privacy, you can stop appearing in Discover and hide your online status.
Is my date of birth visible?
No, never. It’s only used to show you players in your age group (13–17 and 18+ are kept apart) and to check team minimum ages.
How old do I need to be?
At least 13. If you’re under 15, you need a parent’s consent to create an account.
What do you do with my data?
It’s only used to make the app work: it’s never sold or used for advertising. Everything is detailed in the privacy policy.
Your account
I had an account on the old version, where did it go?
BoostMate 2.0 was rebuilt from scratch with a new account system: old accounts weren’t kept. Create a new profile, it takes a few seconds.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, tap “Forgot password?”: you’ll get a code by email to choose a new one.
How do I download my data?
Profile › Settings › Privacy › Download my data.
How do I delete my account?
Profile › Settings › My account › Delete my account. Your profile, messages, swipes and photos are deleted. More details on the Support page.
